Deleting a SmartShade from SmartThings

How to remove a paired device (using the Z-Wave Adapter)

If your SmartShade is paired with SmartThings (using the Z-Wave Adapter) and you would like to remove it, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Remove Device in the SmartThings App. Tap Yes to confirm.

  2. Press PAIR on the SmartShade to enter exclusion mode

  3. Wait for the app to confirm, and your device will be deleted.

If the device fails to delete, a Force Delete option may pop up. If you use this option, factory reset your SmartShade afterwards to avoid issues with re-pairing in the future.

These steps also generally apply to excluding/deleting the SmartShade from other Z-wave hubs, but the specifics will depend on which hub/app you are using.
