Settings Screen Overview of the AXIS Gear App

To access Gear’s Settings, press the ‘Settings’ icon in the top right corner of the Gear Control Screen.

Gear Settings can be used to change the Gear’s name, shade type, reconfigure a Gear, enter or exit Smart Home Mode, delete Gear from the app, and to view further details about Gear.

CHANGE GEAR NAME

Select “Gear Name” and change the selected Gear to a preferred name. The Gears Dashboard will reflect this change.

CHANGE SHADE TYPE

Select “Shade Type” and choose a different window shade type. This changes the icon of the Gear on the main Gears Dashboard.

ABOUT GEAR

This screen displays details about your specific Gear.

This information relates to diagnostics, troubleshooting, and general Gear maintenance. A further chapter explains this in further detail.


RECONFIGURE GEAR

Select "Configure" to reconfigure Gear. This will enter a re-configuration process, which allows you to change the top and bottom calibration points of your Gear.

CHANGE TO SMART HOME MODE

This puts Gear into Smart Home Mode so that it may be connected to a compatible Smart Home hub. This is explained in further detail in a separate article.

REMOVE GEAR

Select "Remove Gear" to delete a Gear from the app. When deleted, Gear retains its stored positions and room name, however, all associated schedules will be removed from Gear.*

The Gear may still be operated using on-device controls, or from any other mobile devices which may already have the AXIS app paired to this specific Gear.

*Note that removing Gear from one mobile device deletes all schedules.

If, for example, John and Mary both have the ‘Living Room’ Gear added to their AXIS mobile app, but John decides to delete this Gear from his AXIS app, the schedules stored within the ‘Living Room’ Gear will be deleted. They will need to be easily be re-sent to the ‘Living Room’ Gear once again from Mary’s phone, in order to fire on time.
