What does the Z-Wave Adapter do?
The Z-Wave Adapter enables you to connect your SmartShade to Z-Wave compatible hubs, including SmartThings and Homey.
How do I know if I need the Z-Wave Adapter?
If you already use a Z-Wave certified hub, the Z-Wave adapter is a good fit for your setup!
If you are not planning on using a Z-Wave hub with your setup, you will not require this extra accessory.
Can the SmartShade be connected using Z-Wave and Bluetooth at the same time?
Yes! With the Z-Wave adapter installed, the SmartShade can pair with a Z-wave certified hub, the RYSE app (via either Bluetooth or the SmartBridge), and other Bluetooth control methods (such as the Remote Control or SmartButton) at the same time.
Do I have to pair with the RYSE app to use the Z-Wave adapter?
No, it is not required to pair your device with the RYSE app in addition to pairing with your Z-Wave hub.
However, our app has a convenient interactive guide built-in that can walk you through installation and setup, so we recommend pairing your SmartShade with the RYSE App anyway (before plugging in the Z-Wave adapter) for the smoothest first-time setup.
Do I need the SmartBridge to use the Z-Wave Adapter?
No. The SmartBridge and the Z-Wave adapter are completely separate devices, and cannot directly connect to each other. Neither is required for the other to work.
Is the Z-Wave Adapter compatible with the SmartCurtain?
No. The Z-Wave Adapter is only compatible with RYSE SmartShades (Wired or Wire-Free).
